We would rather hand you the paperwork than ask you to take our word for it. Every fabric we cut is tested before it becomes a garment — azo-free dyes, pH balance against newborn skin, metal-free trims, colour that holds through a wash cycle, and a surface that will not pill.

DocumentsWhat we test for, and why
Six things, on every fabric. None of them are badges bought off a shelf — each one is a measurement, and each one has a report behind it.
AZO-free dyes
Some dyes break down into aromatic amines that are restricted in India and banned in the EU. This test confirms the dyes here are not among them. It is about what the colour can turn into on damp skin, not about the colour itself.
pH balanced
Newborn skin sits slightly acidic, and that acidity is part of how it defends itself. Fabric finished outside that range works against it. We test so the cloth does not fight the skin it spends all day against.
Metal-free trims
Buttons, closures and fastenings sit against skin for hours and end up in mouths. Where metal can be avoided it is — natural coconut buttons, fabric ties, binding finishes.
Rust-free and corrosion resistant
Where a snap does need to be metal, it is tested to survive wash cycles and humid storage without corroding. A rusting snap marks the fabric long before anyone notices the snap.
Colorfast finish
The colour stays in the cloth. It does not bleed onto everything else in the wash, and it does not transfer onto damp skin — which matters most on exactly the garments that get damp.
No pilling
The surface does not ball up after repeated washing. Pills are loose fibre: rough against skin, and something small enough to end up in a mouth.

Pastelpops

Questions parents ask after scanning
Does this code prove my garment is genuine?
No, and we would rather say so plainly. A printed code can be copied. What it does is take you to the documents behind the product, straight from the pack, without hunting through the site. If you have reason to think a product is not genuine, write to us with a photo of the tag.
Why does this page show fabrics instead of my exact product?
Because that is the level the testing happens at. A lab tests a fabric, and every garment cut from that fabric inherits the result. Listing each of our 113 styles separately would mean a hundred entries all pointing at the same handful of reports. Find the fabric named on your care label and you have your garment's paperwork.
Why do some documents say “on request”?
Some reports contain a supplier's commercial information and are not published openly. They exist, they are held on file, and we will send them to you if you ask.
Are these certifications?
Not in the strict sense, and the distinction matters. A certification is issued by an outside body against a published standard. What is listed here are tested properties — measurements taken by a laboratory, with the report attached. We would rather show you the measurement than a logo.
How should I wash this before first wear?
