Baby bathing Rituals: Do’s & don’ts to follow during your baby’s massage & bathing time.

Babies are delicate and they need to be handled with lot of care. In our Baby rituals series, we bring you the do’s and don’ts for you while you massage and then take your little one for bathing.

Dos and Don’ts for body massage of baby
  • Make sure the room is warm and the baby is comfortable and relaxed before starting the massage.
  • Use oil or lotion to help your hands glide over the baby's skin. Avoid using products that contain fragrances or other irritants.
  • Start with gentle strokes and gradually increase pressure as the baby becomes more comfortable.
  • Pay attention to the baby's cues. If the baby becomes fussy or seems uncomfortable, stop the massage or try a different technique.
  • Massage the baby's legs, arms, and stomach in a circular motion. Avoid massaging the head or face unless the baby seems to enjoy it.
  • Talk to the baby and use a soothing tone to help them relax.
  • Never force the baby to participate in the massage if they are not interested.
  • Be sure to wash your hands before and after the massage to prevent the spread of germs.
  • If you are unsure about giving a massage or have any concerns, consult with a healthcare professional or a trained massage therapist.
  • Always observe baby’s skin for any indications of reactions. Be sure to use safe oil products with nourishing ingredients.

After giving a rejuvenating body massages it’s time for bath time. Make sure you follow below dos and don’ts while giving bath to your little one.

Do’s & Don’ts to follow while giving bath to baby:

  • Hold the baby securely and gently lower them into the tub. Use one hand to support their head and the other hand to hold their body.
